Privacy Policy

What we collect
We collect only what we need to ship you a working product:
- Email address — when you sign up to the waitlist or buy. Stored in our Postgres database and (for waitlist signups) added to a Resend audience for occasional product updates.
- Customizer inputs (author name, book titles, color theme, AI-generated bio/descriptions) — stored against your order so we can write them into your new GitHub repository.
- GitHub username — submitted on the dashboard after payment, used to invite you as an admin collaborator on the private repository we create for you.
- Anonymous usage analytics — page views and a small number of funnel events, collected via a self-hosted Umami instance. No cookies, no IP addresses stored, no cross-site tracking.
What we don't collect
- We do not see or store your credit card, billing address, or payment details. Those go directly to Gumroad, our merchant of record.
- We do not use third-party advertising trackers, Google Analytics, or Facebook Pixel.
Third parties we share data with
- Gumroad — processes your payment. Their privacy policy applies.
- Resend — sends transactional and product emails. Your email is stored in Resend's audience for product updates.
- GitHub — receives the username you submit so we can invite you to the repository we create.
- Vercel — hosts Author Site Kit. Standard server logs apply.
- Railway — hosts our Postgres database.
How long we keep your data
- Waitlist email: until you ask us to remove it.
- Order record (email, customizer inputs, GitHub username): retained indefinitely so we can re-provision or support you if something breaks. You may request deletion at any time.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete any data we hold about you by emailing hello@authorsitekit.com. We aim to respond within 7 days.
If you are in the EU/UK, you have rights under GDPR/UK GDPR including the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, port your data, and object to processing. Email us to exercise any of these.
